Mechthild Barth Translator with many years experience of working both with fiction and non-fiction. She translates mainly from English to German. Before she saw out her teens she left her native Germany to spend eight years in London - an experience which has provided her with an excellent command of English. However, it is her complete grasp of the finer points of the German language that make her ideal for this kind of work. Mechthild took a BA-course in Russian Language & Literature at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies of the University of London before completing her MA in Comparative Literature at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich / Germany. She is currently writing her PhD in German Literature at the Georg-August-Universität in Göttingen / Germany, for which she has received a bursary from the German Academic Foundation Cusanuswerk.
